Introduction
This panel will discuss and present perspectives from the A/E, design-builder, attorney, and construction consultant views on managing the evolving risk trends in federal design-build. These panelists have worked together on federal design-build projects for 15 years, from proposal through punch list, and will present how each of their respective positions has evaluated and managed the evolving design-build risks and then integrated those strategies into a successful procurement team.
Learning Objectives
Identify and evaluate evolving risk trends unique to federal design-build projects, including those from FAR and small business goals, and the owner's role in mitigating those risks.
Discuss & Assess individual risk management strategies from the different procurement team member companies and how they integrate into the overall team approach.
Analyze best practices for early engagement at the proposal stage of the design engineer, legal professionals, and construction managers in federal design-build risk management.
Define and demonstrate the leadership skills for design-builder team members to avoid risk management pitfalls throughout the project.
